The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team will hit the road this weekend, when the Spartans travel to North Manchester, Indiana for the Spartan Mat Classic, hosted by Manchester University, on Saturday, January 12th.
Action at the meet is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Stauffer-Wolfe Arena on the Manchester campus.
Upwards of 20 teams and nearly 300 wrestlers are slated to compete this weekend. Along with Case Western Reserve, some of the teams competing on Saturday morning include Manchester, Baldwin Wallace, Mount Union, Defiance, Wasbash, Trine and Wilmington.
Junior 133-pound wrestler Alec Hoover has led the Spartans this season with 19 wins (19-4 overall), including seven pins and one technical fall. Junior Isaac Collier has added 17 wins (17-5 overall) with four pins and two technical falls in the 165-pound weight class, while senior Brian McNamara, junior Andrew Hoover and freshman Grant Robinson have each tallied 10 wins in their respective weight classes.
