The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team is set to host Lourdes University and Thiel College on Wednesday, January 9th at 7:00 p.m. in Horsburgh Gymnasium. Wednesday's matches will follow a "throwdown" schedule that consists of three rounds.

CWRU Spartans (0-0)
Juniors Jacob Frisch and Alec Hoover paced the Spartans at the eighth-annual Waynesburg Invitational on Saturday, notching a second-place and third-place finish in the 133-pound weight class. For the season, Frisch has totaled 9 wins (9-5, two pins and one technical fall at 133 pounds), while Alec Hoover (17-5, seven pins at 133 pounds) has totaled a team-high 17 wins on the season.
Last year, the Spartans swept the tri-meet with Lourdes and Thiel. CWRU defeated Thiel, 33-14, and defeated Lourdes, 25-21.
Lourdes University Gray Wolves (5-7)
Lourdes is 5-7 in dual matches during the 2018-19 campaign. Junior 125-pounder Ray Porter leads the team with nine wins (9-2 overall) and has recorded a team-high four falls. In addition, junior Tyler Roberts has added eight wins (8-5 overall) and one pin in the 133-pound class. Lourdes is coached by Dock Kelly III, who is in his third season with the squad. He is assisted by Louis Piszker.
Thiel Tomcats (2-1)
Thiel is 2-1 in dual matches this season. Included in the team's record is a 1-0 mark in road matches during the campaign. The Tomcats are led by 16th-year head coach Craig Thurber. He is assisted by Matt Lowry and Carl Hinderliter.
