Spartan Wrestling to End 2018 at RIT Invitational

The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team will travel to Rochester, New York for the 53rd-Annual RIT Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, December 1st.

Action at the meet is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Gordon Field House on the RIT campus. The tournament will continue throughout the day, with the finals scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.

In addition to CWRU and host RIT, other schools participating at the meet include John Carroll, Keystone, Norwich, Oneonta State, SUNY-Oswego, Scranton, Thiel, Trinity (Conn.), SUNY Ulster, Pitt.-Bradford, Wesleyan (Conn.), Williams and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Current entries for the Spartans include freshmen Adam Kates and Patrick Hebreard in the 125 pound weight class, junior Alec Hoover, junior Jacob Frisch, freshman Duncan Clayton and freshman Brandon Callow in the 133 pound weight class, junior Andrew Hoover and freshman Manhattan Gatton in the 141 pound weight class, junior Jack Chimenti and freshman Brandon Barton in the 149 pound weight class, sophomore Thomas Gallagher in the 157 pound weight class, junior Isaac Collier and freshman Kyle Roberts in the 165 pound weight class, freshman Aidan McCooey in the 174 pound weight class, sophomore Brian Kent and freshman Cade Lueker in the 184 pound weight class and freshman Grant Robinson in the 285 pound weight class.

This will be CWRU's second invitational meet of the season. Alec Hoover and Collier lead the squad as they have each posted 7-2 records in their respective weight classes. In addition, Alec Hoover has tallied one pin, while Collier has totaled two pins and one technical fall.
