CWRU Wrestling to Compete at the 50th Annual RIT Invitational

Case Western Reserve University will travel to Rochester, New York for the 50th Annual RIT Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, December 5th.

Action at the meet is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Gordon Field House on the RIT campus.  The tournament will continue throughout the day, with the finals scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

In addition to CWRU and host RIT, other schools participating at the meet include Alfred State, John Carroll, Oswego State, Wesleyan, Oneonta State, Norwich, Scranton, Washington and Jefferson, WPI and Thiel.

Current entries for the Spartans include junior Matt Moy and freshman Luke DiMuzio in the 125 pound class, freshman Connor Howlin in the 141 pound weight class, freshman AJ Vetturini and sophomore Connor Gordon in the 157 pound weight class, sophomore Nate Tommas in the 165 pound weight class, junior Nick Lees and sophomore Nick Tommas in the 174 pound weight class and freshman Gavin Dersh-Fisher and Cito Balsells in the 184 pound weight class.

This will be CWRU's first invitational meet of the season, after the squad has opened the campaign with a 0-4 record in dual matches.  Lees leads the squad with a 3-1 overall record, and has notched victories by pins in three-straight matches.  Connor Gordon has added a 2-2 mark on the year, including one pin.

In addition, Saturday will be the season debut for Nate Tommas, and the collegiate debut for Vetturini.

Results and a recap of the competition will be posted to athletics.case.edu following the completion of action on Saturday.
