Spartans Grapplers Fall in Home Opener Versus W&J

CLEVELAND – The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team opened the home portion of the 2013-14 schedule with a 33-9 loss to visiting Washington & Jefferson College (Pa.) on a snowy Saturday afternoon at Horsburgh Gymnasium.

Freshman 149-pounder Luke Marcelli (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) and sophomore 125-pounder Josh Hall (Galloway, Ohio/Bishop Ready) accounted for the Spartans' nine team points.

Marcelli, who improves to a team-best 21-7 as a rookie, earned a 5-0 decision over Timothy Keblesh. Hall (10-3) picked up his 10th victory of the season via forfeit.

The Spartans next compete at the Pete Willson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College (Ill.) on Friday and Saturday, January 31-February 1.
