Case Western Reserve University sophomore guard/ forward Abbey Lawrence was named to the D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region Third Team, based on her play during the 2019-20 season.

This was the first career all-region honor for Lawrence, who was named to the All-University Athletic Association First Team earlier in the postseason. It marked the seventh time in program history that a Spartan has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Region Team, and the first since Kara Hageman in 2016-17.  In addition, she is only the fourth non-senior in program history to claim an All-Region honor from D3hoops.com, along with Hageman, Erin Hollinger after her junior year in 2010-11, and Keesha Allen after her sophomore year in 2002-03.

Lawrence led all Spartans and finished second among UAA players in 2019-20 with 16.2 points per game, while her 404 total points were the eighth-most ever by a CWRU player. She shot 42.6% overall from the floor, including 33.3% from three-point range, and her 85.4% mark from the free throw line was the third-best in the UAA and 25th among all NCAA Division III players.

Lawrence finished the campaign with 10 games of 20 or more points, including a 30-point effort against Brandeis on January 31 and a 28-point game against NYU on February 2, earning USBWA National Player of the Week honors following the effort. She was tabbed as the UAA Athlete of the Week three times and named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week twice during the season.

This is the 19th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 23rd annual All-American selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.

The Spartans finished the 2019-20 season with a 10-15 overall record, and placed sixth in the final UAA standings with a 5-9 record in league games.
