    The Case Western Reserve University women’s basketball team saw its eight-game winning streak come to a close on Monday afternoon, as the Spartans fell to the University of Rochester 72-64 in Rochester, New York.
  • CWRU Basketball at Rochester Postponed until Monday

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s and women’s basketball games at the University of Rochester, originally scheduled for Sunday, January 20th, have been postponed 24 hours to Monday, January 21st, due to the winter storm slated to affect the area throughout the weekend.
  • CWRU Claims Eighth-Straight Win with Road Victory over Emory

    Case Western Reserve University won its eighth-straight game, the second-longest streak in program history, defeating Emory University 71-57 in a University Athletic Association matchup on Friday evening in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • CWRU Women’s Basketball to Carry Winning Streak into Games at Emory & Rochester

    The Case Western Reserve University women’s basketball team will ride a seven-game winning streak into its University Athletic Association road trip this weekend, when the Spartans travel to Atlanta, Georgia to face the Emory University Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18th and to Rochester, New York to take on the University of Rochester Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20th.

  • Hellmann Collects Second UAA Athlete of the Week Honor of 2018-19

    Case Western Reserve University senior guard/ forward Hillary Hellmann was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for women’s basketball, after leading the Spartans with 19.3 points per game last weekend, and averaging 10.3 rebounds per contest during three CWRU wins.

    Case Western Reserve University freshman guard Abbey Lawrence scored 16 of her career-high 19 points in the first half, and senior guard/ forward Hillary Hellmann powered the team with 17 of her game-high 24 points in the second half, helping to lift the Spartans to a 74-63 road win over Carnegie Mellon University in their University Athletic Association opener on Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
  • Hellmann Named UAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week

  • CWRU Women’s Basketball to Open 2019 with Three-Straight Road Contests

    The Case Western Reserve University women’s basketball team will begin the 2019 portion of its schedule with three-straight road contests, including its first University Athletic Association contest of the season against Carnegie Mellon University.  The Spartans will play at the College of Wooster on Wednesday, January 2nd at 6:00 p.m., before facing Carnegie Mellon at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5th, and play their final non-conference game of the season at Chatham College on Monday, January 7th at 7:00 p.m.
  • McConico Ties Game on Last-Second Three; Spartans Top Eastern 102-99 in OT

    Case Western Reserve University overcame a 15-point deficit late in the third quarter, tying the game on a three-pointer by junior guard Kendall McConico with 1.9 seconds remaining in regulation, and going on to defeat Eastern University 102-99 in overtime in the team’s final game of the 2018 HoopMIA D3 Holiday Shootout in Miami Shores, Florida on Thursday.

    Four Spartans scored in double figures, including graduate student forward Kara Hageman and senior guard/ forward Hillary Hellmann, who each registered double-doubles, leading the Case Western Reserve University women’s basketball team to a 71-59 win over Thiel College in the team’s opening game at the 2018 HoopMIA D3 Holiday Shootout in Miami Shores, Florida on Wednesday at the Barry University Health and Sports Center.

    The Case Western Reserve University women’s basketball team will head south this week to Miami Shores, Florida for the 2018 HoopMIA D3 Holiday Shootout, hosted by Eastern University at the Barry University Health & Sports Center.  The Spartans will open play against Thiel College on Wednesday, December 19th at 12:00 p.m, followed by a contest against Eastern on Thursday, December 20th at 12:00 p.m.
  • Women’s Basketball Suffers 74-62 Setback at Kenyon

    Case Western Reserve University graduate student forward Kara Hageman scored 12 of her season-high matching 21 points in the fourth quarter to lead a late comeback attempt, but the Spartans ultimately came up short in a 74-62 road loss at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio on Monday night.

    Case Western Reserve University senior guard/forward Hillary Hellmann connected on five three-pointers to become the program’s all-time leader, and freshman guard Alyssa Hyland hit a long game-tying three point attempt as the clock expired in regulation to send the game into overtime, as the Spartans defeated Denison University 91-84 in overtime in Granville, Ohio on Tuesday night.

    Senior guard/forward Hillary Hellmann scored 22 points, including 13 during a red-hot third quarter, and graduate student forward Kara Hageman added her first double-double of the season, as the Spartans completed a 2-0 opening weekend with a 74-69 win over Chatham University at the Greg Richards Memorial Tournament in Meadville, Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon.
