Women’s Basketball Drops Home Contest to #22 Chicago

The Case Western Reserve University women's basketball team dropped a 91-46 contest to the 22nd-ranked University of Chicago at Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland, Ohio on Sunday afternoon.

Junior forward Hillary Hellmann led all Spartans with 14 points, and added six rebounds, two blocks and two steals.  Freshman guard Emily Todd scored 14 points and tallied three assists, while freshman forward Emma Cain scored 10 points on a five-of-eight shooting performance with seven rebounds.  Freshman forward Rebecca Rowlands added a career-high seven rebounds in the game.

Chicago, which led wire-to-wire, was paced by Mia Farrell's 24 point performance, while Olariche Obi scored 12 points and collected 10 rebounds for the double-double.

Chicago remained perfect in University Athletic Association play, improving to 4-0 in the conference and to 14-2 overall with the win.  Case Western Reserve dropped to 3-12 on the year and to 0-5 in the UAA with Sunday's setback.

The Spartans will be back on the road next weekend, traveling to Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts on Friday, January 26th and to New York University
