CLEVELAND – The Case Western Reserve University women's basketball team hosts the Tartans of Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday, February 28 for the final University Athletic Association weekend of the season.
Join CWRU as we celebrate the fine accomplishments of the senior Spartan basketball players who have given their time and hard work to the basketball program while representing the University.

After averaging 9.5 points in 11 non-conference games, Brooke Orcutt has averaged 12.7 points during 12 UAA contests. During the conference stretch, Orcutt has turned in three 20-plus point efforts.
POWER OF FOUR
Four players from CWRU rank in the top 20 in the UAA in points per game. Brooke Orcutt (11.2) ranks ninth, Laura Mummey (10.4) is 11th, Jessica McCoy (9.0) is 15th and Berit Eppard (8.8) ranks 16th.
MUMMEY'S THE WORD
Laura Mummey has scored in double-figures in 16 of the team's 24 games, including a season-high 21-point effort against Emory University on February 20.
GUARDING THE THREE
The Spartans rank first in the UAA in opponent three-point shooting percentage (.260).
CWRU is 25-14 in 39 home games (all at Horsburgh Gymnasium) since the beginning of the 2011-12 season.
Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon have met 43 times on the hardwood with the Spartans holding a 31-12 advantage. The Tartans won the last matchup earlier this season 59-58 to open conference play. The first-ever meeting between the two schools came during the 1987-88 season and resulted in a 71-68 victory for the Spartans.
Laura Mummey posted 13 points and eight rebounds, but the team dropped a 59-58 heartbreaker at rival Carnegie Mellon in the 2015 UAA opener at Skibo Gymnasium. In a back-and-forth final five minutes, the Spartans led 58-57 when Brooke Orcutt hit two free throws with 11 seconds remaining. Then with just two seconds left on the clock, Liza Otto scored a layup to lift the hosts to victory.

SCOUTING THE TARTANS
The Tartans are coming off of a 85-74 upset of Emory University on Sunday in Pittsburgh. Lisa Murphy scored 29 points and brought down 11 boards in the win while Liza Otto added 17. As a team, Carnegie Mellon ranks third in the UAA with a .414 field goal percentage. Individually, Murphy ranks first in the UAA in scoring (19.8 ppg), rebounding (10.0 rpg) and field goal percentage (.663).
