WILMINGTON, Ohio – Junior wing Brooke Orcutt (Morrison, Colo./Dakota Ridge) scored a career-high 23 points and was named to the weekend's all-tournament team, but the Case Western Reserve University women's basketball team fell to No. 20 nationally ranked Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham (N.J.) by a score of 92-63 in the championship game of Wilmington College's Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Hermann Court.

Orcutt, who set a career high with 23 points last night, earns her second all-tournament team honor in as many weekends. In addition, sophomore post Laura Mummey (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) totaled 12 points and five rebounds for the Spartans (3-2).

FDU-Florham (4-0), ranked 20th in the Preseason Top 25, was led by Kyra Dayon with 21 points. Rachel Groom posted a double-double in the first half alone and finished with 17 points and 11 boards.

In the first half, the Spartans grabbed two early leads, the second coming at 17:15 when junior guard Chelsea Steen (Newark, Ohio/Newark) hit two free throws to make the score 8-7. However, the Devils answered with a 7-0 run that ended in a Dayon jumper with 16:46 on the clock. The Devils' lead would reach as many as 23 (48-25) in the period after a Groom jumper with 2:22 left before halftime, and Case eventually went into the locker room down, 51-30.

Out of the break, the Spartans were able to hang around and use a 10-4 run pull within 15, at 63-48, as Steen hit a free throw with 13:41 remaining. From that point, Case would get no closer than 15.

The Spartans open the home portion of the 2013-14 schedule this Tuesday, November 26 versus Kenyon College in the first game of a women's and men's doubleheader at 5:00 p.m. at Horsburgh Gymnasium.
