Hamilton Named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

Case Western Reserve University junior pitcher/outfielder Ilissa Hamilton was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This was the first career Academic All-District honor for Hamilton, who, by earning the award, will be placed on the Academic All-America ballot.

Hamilton, a two-time All-UAA selection, finished tied for first in the conference with 13 wins and ranked second with 115 strikeouts in her second year as a Spartan. She went 13-6 overall on the mound, as she allowed 52 earned runs on 125 hits for a 3.00 ERA. Hamilton also totaled a team-high 13 complete games. In addition to her work on the mound, Hamilton batted .270 (20-for-74) with two home runs, five doubles, two triples, 11 RBI's and 21 runs scored.

During her career as a Spartan, Hamilton has gone 34-14 on the mound with a 2.74 earned run average in 306.1 innings pitched. She has totaled 299 strikeouts and thrown 32 complete games.

Academically, Hamilton is an UAA All-Academic honoree, and has recorded a 4.00 grade point average as a Biomedical Engineering major.

Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by members of CoSIDA. Case Western Reserve is a part of District 7, which includes Division III student-athletes from colleges in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. By virtue of being named to the Academic All-District Team, Hamilton will be placed on the ballot for the Academic All-America team, with first-, second-, and third-teams to be announced in June.

Case Western Reserve finished the 2019 regular season with a 25-13 overall record, including a 10-8 mark in University Athletic Association play.
