The Case Western Reserve University softball team will continue their home stand this weekend, as they host doubleheaders against Kenyon College on Saturday, March 23rd and the University of Mount Union on Sunday, March 24th. The first pitch for both days is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

The Spartans will enter the weekend with an overall record of 5-5, following a split with Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday. The team has hit .302 this season and averaged 5.2 runs per game this season, while the pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.35 with an opponent's batting average of .282.
Case Western Reserve is under the leadership of Head Coach Josie Henry, who is in her ninth season with the team, and has a career record of 210-132. Henry is assisted by Andrea Nagy, Ashley Parello, Katelyn Gibson and Hannah Mehrle.
The Ladies are currently 13-5 overall for the season, after dropping a doubleheader to Otterbein University in Gambier, Ohio on Thursday. Kenyon has hit .337 this year and averaged 7.1 runs per game, while the pitching staff has a 3.25 ERA with a .313 opponents' batting average.
The Ladies are led by Head Coach Erin O'Neill, who is in her ninth season with the program. She is assisted by Jennifer Dowsey.
Last year, the Spartans and Ladies played a doubleheader in Gambier, Ohio, with Kenyon winning the first game 3-2, but CWRU rallying back in the second game to claim an 8-7 win. Junior Melissa Cuellar led the Spartans during their 8-7 victory, as she went three-for-four at the plate with a double, home run and three runs batted in.
Mount Union Purple Raiders
The Purple Raiders currently stand at 10-4 on the campaign, and will host Otterbein University on Saturday before traveling to Cleveland to face the Spartans on Sunday. Mount Union has hit .343 this year and averaged 6.6 runs per game, while the pitching staff has a 3.72 ERA with a .271 opponents' batting average.
The Purple Raiders are under the leadership of Head Coach Meghan Simons, who is in her fourth season with the program. She is assisted by Hannah Reese.
Last year, the Spartans and Purple Raiders played a doubleheader in Alliance, Ohio, with CWRU defeating Mount Union 3-1 in the first game, and holding on a for a 7-5 win over the Purple Raiders in the second game. Sophomore Arisa Cleaveland contributed three of the Spartans' 16 hits during the second game, while sophomore Sarah Miller, senior Nicole Doyle and junior Nicole Carty each had a pair of hits.
Senior Nicole Doyle is first on the squad with a .483 batting average (14-for-29), leads the team with 14 hits and is tied for the team lead with five doubles…Doyle leads the squad with five multiple hit games this year…Freshman Liv Thomas leads the team with three home runs and 12 RBI's, while also having a team-best five multiple RBI games this season…The Spartans have hit .292 (26-for-89) with runners in scoring position this season, and .615 (16-for-26) with a runner on third and less than two outs.
