Case Western Reserve University junior shortstop Nicole Doyle was named the University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week, after helping the Spartans post a perfect 8-0 record during this past week of games.
Doyle batted .429 (12-for-28) and scored six runs, while also hitting two home runs and driving in six RBI's. During the Spartans' 4-1 win over Chicago on Sunday, Doyle went three-for-four at the plate with two runs scored, one home run and one RBI.
For the season, Doyle is third on the team with a .357 batting average (50-for-140) and has scored 32 runs, hit five home runs and driven in 26 RBI's.
This was Doyle's first career UAA Hitter of the Week honor.
With the sweep on Sunday against Chicago, Case Western Reserve completed a strong finish to the 2018 regular season. CWRU won their last eight games and 14 of its last 15 contests to finish with the second-most wins (31) during the Coach Henry era.
