The Case Western Reserve University softball team, ranked 22nd in the latest NFCA Top 25 Poll, will travel to Gambier, Ohio to face Kenyon College for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24th.

The Spartans will enter the weekend with an overall record of 11-1, following a 7-1 record this past week during their spring break trip to Arizona. The team has hit .360 this season and averaged 8.2 runs per game this season, while the pitching staff has a team ERA of 2.67 with an opponent's batting average of .250.
Case Western Reserve is under the leadership of Head Coach Josie Henry, who is in her eighth season with the team, and has a career record of 178-116. Henry is assisted by Shannel Blackshear, Ashley Parello, Hannah Mehrle, Andrea Nagy, Annie Wennerberg and Katelyn Gibson.
The Ladies are currently 12-6 overall for the season, after dropping a doubleheader to Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio on Sunday. Kenyon has hit .319 this year and averaged 6.3 runs per game, while the pitching staff has a 2.61 ERA with a .278 opponents' batting average.
The Ladies are led by Head Coach Erin O'Neill, who is in her eighth season with the program. She is assisted by Jennifer Dowsey.
Last year, the Spartans and Ladies played a doubleheader at Mather Park in Cleveland, Ohio, with CWRU winning the first game 6-5, and also claiming an 8-0 win in six innings during the second game. Junior Nicole Doyle led the Spartans at the plate with a five-for-seven effort including one home run and five runs batted in, while senior Grace Tritchler was three-for-seven with two RBI's on the day, including the go-ahead RBI in the first game of the doubleheader.
Senior Maren Waldner is first on the squad with .565 batting average (26-for-46) and leads the team with 26 hits and 15 runs scored…Waldner leads the team with nine multiple hit games this year….Seniors Grace Tricthler and Katie Wede each have a team-best four multiple RBI games this season, while Tritchler has also hit safely in all 12 games this year…Wede currently is tied for first on the team with three stolen bases and now has 53 stolen bases in her career, just 13 shy of breaking the program record for career stolen bases…The Spartans have hit .371 (59-for-159) with runners in scoring position this season, and .714 (20-for-28) with a runner on third and less than two outs.
