The Case Western Reserve University softball will begin their third week of conference play at home this weekend, when the team welcomes New York University to Mather Park for a four-game series.
Changes to the schedule have been made, with Friday's originally scheduled doubleheader now being played on Saturday, April 8th, starting at 1:00 p.m. Saturday's originally scheduled doubleheader has been moved to Sunday, April 9th, slated to start at 10:00 a.m.

The Spartans will begin the weekend with a record of 11-8 and 2-3 in the conference, following a sweep of a doubleheader over Thiel College on Tuesday. The team has hit .310 this season and averaged 5.1 runs per game this season, while the pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.56 with an opponent's batting average of .277.
Case Western Reserve is under the leadership of Head Coach Josie Henry, who is now in her seventh season with the team, and has a career record of 158-106. Henry is assisted by Shannel Blackshear and Ashley Parello.
The Violets will enter the weekend with an overall record of 10-6, following a sweep of a doubleheader over Drew University on Wednesday. This will be the first conference series for NYU this season. The Violets have hit .345 this year and averaged 6.8 runs per game, while the pitching staff has a 2.82 ERA with a .261 opponents' batting average.
NYU is led by Head Coach Now-Allah James, who is in his third season with the Violets. He is assisted by Bridget Rafter, Chris Foye, Grace Edelson and Alyssa See.
The Spartans and the Violets have met four times since NYU debuted softball as a varsity program in 2014-15, with the teams splitting the four contests at the UAA Tournament in Altamonte Springs, Florida. In 2015, the Spartans won the first-ever matchup between the two teams 12-4, with Katie Wede going two-for-four at the plate with two RBI's, and Annie Wennerberg adding a one-for-two game with a double. In the second matchup between the two teams in 2015, CWRU defeated NYU 11-3. Wennerberg led the Spartans with a four-for-four performance, including a home run, double and four RBI's.
The Spartans have gone 53-15 in home games at Mather Park over the last five seasons, good for a .779 winning percentage…The Spartans are currently 6-2 at home this season, after sweeping Thiel College on Tuesday…Junior infielder Maren Waldner is first on the squad with a .435 batting average (27-for-62) and leads the team with 10 multiple hit games this year…Junior Grace Tritchler has a team-best five multiple RBI games...Junior Katie Wede has the longest hit streak for a Spartan so far this season with an eight-game hitting streak…Wede also ranks tied for first in Division III in toughest to strikeout with zero strikeouts in 69 at-bats…CWRU has hit .299 (63-for-211) with runners in scoring position this season, and .423 (33-for-78) against left-handed pitchers.
