The Case Western Reserve University softball team will hit the road this weekend, when the team travels to Waltham, Massachusetts for a four-game series with the Brandeis University Judges.
The Spartans will begin the four-game series with a doubleheader starting at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31st. The series will continue on Saturday, April 1st with a doubleheader starting at 12:00 p.m. As always, the schedule is subject to change due to weather, and fans are encouraged to check back at athletics.case.edu for any schedule updates.

The Spartans will begin their first UAA road weekend with an overall record of 9-7, following a 2-2 split against Emory University this past weekend. The team has hit .305 this season and averaged 5.0 runs per game this season, while the pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.47 with an opponent's batting average of .278.
Case Western Reserve is under the leadership of Head Coach Josie Henry, who is now in her seventh season with the team, and has a career record of 156-105. Henry is assisted by Shannel Blackshear and Ashley Parello.
The Judges have opened their 2017 campaign with an overall record of 3-4. They are scheduled to play a doubleheader against Lesley University on Wednesday, before hosting the Spartans on the weekend. Brandeis has hit .247 this year and averaged 3.0 runs per game, while the pitching staff has a 2.33 ERA with a .265 opponents' batting average.
The Judges are led by Head Coach Danielle DelPonte, who is in her second season with the program. She is assisted by Kelley Fluent and Emily Kraytenberg.
While the teams have previously met annually at the UAA tournament in Altamonte, Florida, this will be the first year that CWRU and Brandeis will play on a campus site during the Coach Henry era.
Last year, the Spartans dropped their two games against Brandeis during the UAA Championships, falling 7-6 in the first game, and then losing 8-4 in the second game.
Friday's game will be the first road-contest of the new UAA softball schedule format for the Spartans, with teams playing four-game series each weekend on campus sites…The Spartans are currently 2-2 in the UAA this season, after splitting a four-game series at home against Emory University… Sophomore shortstop Nicole Doyle leads the team with a .431 batting average (22-for-51)…Junior infielder Maren Waldner leads the team with eight multiple hit games this year…Junior Grace Tritchler and freshman Nicole Carty each have a team-best three multiple RBI games…The Spartans have hit .311 (56-for-180) with runners in scoring position this season, and .423 (33-for-78) against left-handed pitchers.
