The Knights got on the board first with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first, giving Mount Saint Mary a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 until the fifth when the Knights scored an unearned run to increase their lead to 2-0.

The Spartans evened the score in the bottom half of the fifth when Wede singled to drive in two runs, junior Maren Waldner and senior Annie Wennerberg.
