Wennerberg's Offense Drives Spartans to Remain Perfect

CLERMONT, Fla. - Sophomore pitcher Annie Wennerberg (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) had four at-bats, four runs, and four hits including a home run in the win against Bethany College as the Case Western Reserve University softball team went 2-0 on Saturday afternoon defeating Bethany 9-1 in six innings and Wheaton College (Ill.) 13-5 in six innings.

The Spartans are now 5-0 on the season.

CWRU now has 14 home runs in five games, 10 of which come between Wennerberg and senior outfielder Ashley Parello (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township).

Parello contributed three hits off of four at-bats, while senior Rebecca Taylor (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) had two hits off of three at-bats.

The Spartans will continute their annual spring break trip in the "Sunshine State" as the University Athletic Association Championships begins Tuesday, March 10 and concludes Sunday, March 15.
