Molly O’Brien Earns Final Regular Season UAA Hitter of the Week Award

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – A standout performance at the plate in the final two games of the season has earned Case Western Reserve University sophomore second baseman Molly O'Brien (Northbrook, Ill./Loyola) her first career University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week award.

O'Brien went 5-for-6 with a triple, a run batted-in and a stolen base in the Spartans' doubleheader sweep of Geneva College (Pa.) on Tuesday, April 30. She finished the season with a .405 batting average, two homeruns and 16 RBI. O'Brien also led the team with four triples, 38 runs scored and 22 stolen bases.

She is a two-time UAA Championship All-Tournament Team honoree and a 2013 All-UAA First Team selection.

With two seasons under her belt, O'Brien is a .365 hitter with 27 RBI, 74 runs scored and a school-record 37 stolen bases.

The Spartans finished the regular season at 24-11 with 11-straight wins and 15 victories in their last 16 games overall.
