CLEVELAND – A pair of lengthy rain delays led to the cancellation of the Case Western Reserve University versus Baldwin Wallace University softball doubleheader that began on Thursday, April 25 at Mather Park. The twinbill began as scheduled at 3:30 p.m., but only two innings were completed in game one due to heavy rain.
After an inning and a half, Baldwin Wallace led by a score of 2-0 before the first rain delay of 53 minutes hit. The teams returned to the field briefly for another full inning before the second round of rain hit causing the field to become unplayable.
The Spartans remain at 20-13 overall with seven-straight wins and 11 victories in the last 12 games overall. The team is scheduled to return to action this Saturday, April 27 at Wittenberg University for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader in Springfield.
