CWRU Cross Country Set for All-Ohio Championships on Saturday

The Case Western Reserve University cross country teams will return to action this Saturday, September 29th, competing in the All-Ohio Championships in Norton, Ohio.

This year's All-Ohio Championships will be hosted by the University of Akron at the Silver Creek Metro Park.  The women's 6K championship is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m., to be followed by the men's 8K championship at 2:45 p.m.  The women's open 6K will be held at 3:30 p.m., with the competition concluding with the men's open 8K at 4:15 p.m.  The awards ceremony is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.  More information on the meet can be found at, while live results for the races are available at

The field for the meet includes teams from nearly 40 colleges across the State of Ohio, and will feature separate scoring for Division I, Division II/NAIA and Division III.  The entire Spartan squad is scheduled to compete at the meet, with the top-nine nine for both the men and the women competing in the championship race, and the rest taking part in the open race.

Other competing schools include Ashland, Baldwin Wallace, Blufton, Bowling Green, Central State, Cleveland State, Columbus State, Cuyahoga Community College, Defiance, Findlay, Franciscan, Heidelberg, Kent State, Kent State-Trumbull, Lake Erie College, Lourdes, Malone, Marietta, Mount Union, Mount Vernon Nazarene, Oberlin, Ohio, Ohio Christian, Ohio Dominican, Ohio Northern, Ohio Wesleyan, Rio Grande, Shawnee State, Tiffin, Toledo, Urbana, Ursuline, Walsh, Wilmington, Wooster, and Wright State.

At last year's All-Ohio Championships, the CWRU men placed ninth overall out of 37 total teams, and second among the 17 Division III programs.  The Spartan women placed 14th overall out of 37 total teams and third out of 17 Division III squads.  Top returning finishers for the men from last year's meet include, senior Zach Roshon (fourth) and junior Andrew Green (41st), while junior Madeline Lindemann (19th) and seniors Jennifer Hoffmann (20th) and Isa Torres-Padin (24th) return for the women.

The CWRU men will enter the meet ranked fifth in the Great Lakes Region, while the women are currently ranked 24th nationally and third in the region.
