The Case Western Reserve University track and field teams will be back in action this weekend, as the squad will be split between a pair of meets. Runners will be at the Otterbein April Fool's Invitational at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio on Saturday, March 30th, while the throwers will be competing at the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania also on Saturday.
Action at the Otterbein April Fool's Invitational on the track will start at 10:30 a.m., with a rolling schedule. For more information, CLICK HERE.
The Carnegie Mellon Quad will begin with field events starting at 10:00 a.m.
Case Western Reserve is coming off another strong performance at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational last weekend, with both the men and women placing first in the team standings at the meet.
Currently four different individual Spartan men have registered marks that among the top-20 competitors in Division III this season. Junior Dominic Oddo is 8th in Division III with a mark of 6.81 meters in the long jump, junior Grant McCarthy is 11th with a time of 32:14.96. in the 10,000-meter run, junior Jonathan Haling is 14th with a time of 49.37 in the 400-meter dash and senior Zach Roshon is 18th with a time of 32:37.23 in the 10,000-meter run.
In addition, the Spartan women have two different individuals that have also registered marks that rank among the top-20 competitors in Division III this season. Graduate student Cassandra Laios is 1st in Division III with a mark of 52.48 meters om the hammer throw, 4th with a mark of 13.29 meters in the shot put and 9th with a mark of 40.48 meters in the discus. Junior Abbey Waltz is 20th among Division III competitors with a mark of 3.37 meters.
