The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams are prepared to travel to Kent, Ohio for the Kent State Golden Gala from Friday, December 7th through Saturday, December 8th in the Kent State Field House.
The Spartans are looking forward to another weekend of competition after last Saturday's season-opening meet. The men's team finished first out of five teams at the meet, while the women placed first out of seven teams.
Junior Dominic Oddo led the Spartan men on Saturday as he claimed the title in the long jump with a mark of 6.89 meters and also added a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.74. For the women, graduate student Cassandra Laios earned the title in the shot put, as she hit a mark of 13.92 meters.
The Spartans will be sending 14 athletes to the meet, where they are slated to compete against mostly NCAA Division I and II competition. Currently scheduled to be in action at the meet for the CWRU women are graduate student Cassandra Laios, senior Marina Yu, junior Olivia Newman, junior Maria King and sophomore Julie Hines. The Spartan men that will be competing are senior Ananth Suresh junior Dominic Oddo, junior Michael Hradesky, junior Darius Inzar, junior Jonathan Haling, sophomore Jordan Butler, sophomore Musa Hakim Jr., freshman Logan Singer and freshman Juan Perez.
