Case Western Reserve University seniors Andrew Ibibo and Zak Hurd and sophomore Michael Hradesky each recorded a season-best time by a Spartan at the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet on Friday evening at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.
Ibibo finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.36 seconds, tied for the 29th-fastest mark in Division III this season and the second-fastest all-time in program history. Ibibo also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.79.
Hradesky won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.78, while Hurd claimed 15th-place in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 11.27. Senior Alex Nesvisky was the team's top finisher in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.54 meters.
For the women, senior Danielle Kulpins finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:47.68, while senior Marie-Louise Kloster claimed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.34. Senior Nimi Gupta added a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.00 meters, and junior Shannon Carroll was eighth in both the 400-meter dash (1:05.13) and 100-meter hurdles (16.65 seconds), and 12th in the 200-meter dash (29.68 seconds).
The Spartans will look to improve on their NCAA qualifying times next week, when the team travels to Delaware, Ohio for the Great Lakes Elite Meet at Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday, May 17th, and the Gregory Invitational at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois on Wednesday, May 16th – Thursday, May 17th.
