Case Western Reserve University freshman multi-event competitor Jordan Butler and senior thrower Nimi Gupta were named the University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for men's and women's field events, following their performances at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio this past weekend.
Butler claimed the title in the high jump to help the Spartan men win the invitational this past weekend. Butler earned his first-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters, which currently ranks second in the UAA and 16th in Division III. This was the first UAA Athlete of the Week honor of his career.
Gupta claimed the title in the hammer throw to lead the Spartan women to a first-place finish at the Amy Adams Invite. Gupta earned her first-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.14 meters, which currently ranks first in the University Athletic Association and 14th in Division III. This was her first career UAA Athlete of the Week honor.
