Case Western Reserve University senior sprinter Nathaniel Wahner has qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships that will be held on March 10th-11th in Naperville, Illinois. He will be competing in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash.
Wahner will complete in the 400-meter prelims on Friday, March 10th at 2:20 p.m. (CDT) and then in the 200-meter prelims at 3:45 p.m. (CDT) with hopes of qualifying for the finals on Saturday, March 11th. The fourth-year Spartan, making his track national meet debut, is seeded 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.89 and seeded 15th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.23.
Wahner achieved his qualifying time in the 400-meter dash when he set a school-record and placed first in the event during the University Athletic Association Championships on February 26th. He achieved his qualifying time in the 200-meter dash when he set the school-record and placed first in the event during this past weekend's ONU Polar Bear Last Chance Meet.
Wahner becomes the first Spartan to ever qualify for each of his two events.
All events will be held at the Al B. Garius Track Facility on the campus of North Central College.
