In the final weekend of competition before the 2017 Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team will send senior sprinter Nathaniel Wahner, freshman Dominic Oddo and the men's distance medley relay team of Wahner, senior Joe Ledger, junior Aidan DeSanto and sophomore Joseph Cabral to compete on Saturday, March 4th at the 2017 Polar Bear Final Qualifier hosted by Ohio Northern University.
Wahner will compete in the 200-meter dash after coming off of a school-record breaking time in the event last weekend at the UAA Indoor Championships. He ran a time of 22.32 in the preliminaries, besting his previous school record of 22.48 set last season.
Wahner is currently ranked No. 25 in Division III with his school-record time of 22.32 in the 200-meter dash.
Oddo will be competing in the long jump after claiming All-UAA honors last weekend with a distance of 6.62 meters in the long jump. Oddo's best distance of 6.67 meters came at the 2017 Greater Cleveland Championships.
A total of 15 men will be selected to compete on the national stage from each event and that will be announced on Monday.
Oddo will jump at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, while Wahner and the men's distance medley relay team are scheduled to run at 12:00 p.m.
