The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams are prepared to travel to Kent, Ohio for the Kent State Golden Gala from Friday December 9th through Saturday December 10th in the Kent State Field House.
The Spartans are looking forward to another weekend of competition after last Saturday's season-opening meet. The men's and women's teams combined for a total of 14 top three performances throughout the meet.
Standout performances from junior Andrew Ibibo and junior Rachel Willard highlighted the Spartans field. Ibibo earned the title in the 400-meter dash after crossing the line in a time of 50.70 and Willard jumped 10.37 meters for first place in the triple jump.
The Spartans will be sending 18 athletes to the meet, where they are slated to compete against mostly NCAA Division I and II competition. Currently scheduled to be in action at the meet for the CWRU women are junior Skylar Braga, senior Abby Casalnova, junior Nimi Gupta, junior Marie-Louis Kloster, junior Cassandra Laios, freshman Bari Love, sophomore Olivia Newman, senior Temi Omilabu and freshman Brianna Rees. The Spartan men that will be competing are sophomore Tyler Bushman, sophomore Joseph Cabral, senior Nico Ericksen-Deriso, freshman Jonathan Haling, Ibibo, junior Sam Merriman, junior Grant Mlack, freshman Dominic Oddo and senior Nathaniel Wahner.
