The Case Western Reserve University men's indoor track and field team set six program records during the 2015-16 season, while also compiling five All-UAA honors during the University Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Leading the way for the Spartans at the UAA Championships, hosted by New York University, was junior Nathaniel Wahner, who earned All-UAA honors in a pair of events. He set the program record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.48 seconds, finishing third in the finals of the event with a time of 22.49 seconds.  Wahner also claimed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.20 seconds.

Senior Nicholas Heim added an all-UAA honor with a second-place finish in the weight throw on the Saturday of the Championships with a throw of 15.11 meters.   Sophomore Grant Mlack picked up a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.40 seconds in the finals of the event.  Also earning an All-UAA honor was sophomore Alex Nesvisky with a second-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 14.28 meters.

Four other program records were set by the team during the UAA Championships.  In the 60-meter dash, freshman Rasheed Ajala recorded a time of 7.07 seconds in the preliminaries, while junior Joe Ledger notching a mark of 1:55.00 in the preliminaries of the 800-meter run.  Ajala would wind up finishing fifth in the finals of the 60-meter dash on Sunday (7.18 seconds), while Ledger finished fourth in the 800-meter run finals (1:55.69).  In the 3,000-meter run, sophomore Sam Merriman finished fourth with a time of 8:38.05 to best Domonic Smith's record of 8:40.66, set in 2008.  The Spartans' 4x400-meter relay team of Mlack, freshman Joseph Cabral, sophomore Andrew Ibibo and Wahner placed fourth with a mark of 3:19.47, topping the school record of 3:23.66, set in 2015.

Five Spartan men also earned All-Great Lakes Region Honors from USTFCCCA in their respective events, including Cabral (4x400m relay), Ibibo (4x400m relay), Merriman (5,000m run), Mlack (60mH, 4x400m relay) and Wahner (4x400m dash).  Ibibo also broke the school record in the 500-meter run as he finished first at the Greater Cleveland Colleges Meet with a time of 1:06.68.

The Spartan men's and women's track and field teams won the Ninth-Annual Battle for the Obelisk against UAA rival Carnegie Mellon University as they combined for a total of 146 team points.  This was the second-straight year the Spartans had won the Obelisk. The women's team scored 88 points and the men contributed 58 in order to hold on to the title.

In addition to their work on the track, the Spartans were recognized as a team for their academic achievements, receiving All-Academic Honors by the USTFCCCA with a team grade point average of 3.45, the 12th-highest among the teams recognized. 25 members of the Case Western Reserve men's indoor track and field team received Winter UAA All-Academic recognition.  Also, Nicholas Heim was selected to receive the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for his outstanding career as a student-athlete.
