Weintraub Wins Hammer Throw at Gregory Invitational in Final Tune-Up Before NCAA Championship

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – In his final tune-up prior to the NCAA Championship Meet, Case Western Reserve University senior Harry Weintraub (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) won the hammer throw with the fourth-best mark of his career at the Gregory Invitational at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Weintraub hit a mark of 194 feet, seven inches (59.30 meters) to place first in the field of six.

Weintraub, a 2013 All-American, will throw for the final time as a collegian at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday, May 22 in Delaware, Ohio. The hammer throw event is set for 1:30 p.m. at Selby Stadium on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. Last season, Weintraub placed third in the hammer in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

He is also the school record-holder in the event with a mark of 201' (61.27m).
