ALLIANCE, Ohio – Led by a victory in the distance medley relay, the Case Western Reserve University men's track & field team competed at the unscored Jim Wuske Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union on Saturday.
Highlighting the day, the Spartans' distance medley relay team bested a field of four as sophomores Abdallah Soliman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), Devon Belew (Kansas City, Mo./Park Hill) and Gilad Doron (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion) teamed with freshman Galen Caldwell (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) for a time of 10:44.55.
Also turning in top finishes were senior Harry Weintraub (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson), who finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 57 feet, three inches, and freshman Graeham Heil (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic), whose triple jump of 40'4.25" was good for third place.
The Spartans are back in action at two different locations next weekend. Part of the squad will take part in the BW Mid-February Meet in Berea on Friday, February 14 (5:00 p.m.), while the team's top scorers will compete at the All-Ohio Championship in Westerville on Saturday, Feb. 15 (12:00 p.m.).
