Spartan Men’s Track & Field Competes at B-W Mid-February Meet

BEREA, Ohio – Select members of the Case Western Reserve University men's track & field team competed at the Baldwin-Wallace College Mid-February Meet on Friday night at Harrison Dillard Track.

The rest of the Spartans compete at the All-Ohio Championship in Westerville tomorrow at Otterbein University at 11:00 a.m.

Freshman Akash Menon (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) was runner-up in the triple jump with a mark of 40 feet, seven and one-half inches.

Sophomore David Dixon (Atlanta, Ga./Lakeside) placed fourth in the mile run in 4:40.56 as did Andrew Appelbaum (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) in the 800-meter run in 2:03.25.

Sophomore Wyatt Hoch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) was fifth in the 5,000m with a time of 16:24.84.

Freshman Mark Kulinski (Oil City, Pa./Venango Catholic) and senior Frank VanTassell (Minneapolis, Minn./Red Wing) went four and five in the pole vault with respective heights of 13'5.25" and 12'5.50."

In the shot put, freshman Sam Reusser (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) and sophomore David Leishman (Rock Creek, Ohio/Geneva) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, with marks of 43'0.25" and 42'6.25."

Junior Izzy Budnick (Reisterstown, Md./McDonough) placed ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 44'06.25" and ninth in the shot put at 39'8".
