Spartan Track and Field Competes at Mount Union Last Chance Meet

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track & field teams sent a small delegation to the University of Mount Union Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 6 at the Peterson Field House.

For the men, sophomore Chris Kelly (Twinsburg, OH/Twinsburg) placed second in the mile run with a time of 4:21.32.

Junior Matt Jurcak (Olmsted Falls, OH/Olmsted Falls) ran second during prelims, but picked up the win in the finals with a time of 7.81.

Freshman Harry Weintraub (Croton on Hudson, NY/Hendrick Hudson) and senior Jeremy Gdaniec (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) finished in fourth and fifth-place in the weight throw event, respectively. Weintraub put up a mark of 49-11, while Gdaniec threw 47-3.

For the women, junior Amanda Kline (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) won the shot put with a mark of 40-10.25 and took third in the women's weight throw with a mark of 46-0.

In the high jump, junior Erin Hollinger (Chardon, OH/Chardon) placed first with a height of 5-04.25.

The Spartans will kick off their outdoor season on March 25 at the two-day Virginia Military Institute-Washington & Lee Track Carnival.
