    Case Western Reserve University announced on Wednesday afternoon that its fall varsity sports (football, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s tennis) will not be participating in intercollegiate competition this season.

  • No. 9 Men’s Tennis Finishes Spring Break Trip with Three Wins

    The ninth-ranked Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team finished its spring break trip with three wins on Wednesday in Orlando, Florida at the USTA National Campus. The Spartans defeated Rhodes College 8-1, Millsaps University 9-0, and Wheaton College 9-0. With the three wins, CWRU improves to 18-1. Meanwhile, Rhodes falls to 5-6, Millsaps falls to 6-2, and Wheaton drops to 5-5.

    Case Western Reserve University first-year James Hopper was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for Men’s Tennis after leading the ninth-ranked Spartans to a 7-2 win over Occidental College in Altamonte Springs, Florida on Sunday.
  • Men’s Tennis Continues Florida Trip with Wins over No. 13 CMU, Lehigh
    March 10, 2020
    The No. 9 Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team swept its two matches on Tuesday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida to extend its winning streak to 10 matches. CWRU defeated No. 13 Carnegie Mellon University 9-0 earlier in the day and defeated Lehigh University 6-1 in the later match. The Spartans improve to 15-1 on the season, while the Tartans fall to 6-4, and the Mountain Hawks fall to 4-5.

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team, ranked ninth in Division III, beat Ithaca College 9-0 on Monday afternoon in Orlando, Florida on the USTA Campus on the second day of its spring break trip. The Spartans improve to 13-1 on the season, while the Bombers fall to 0-4. The win was the Spartans’ eighth straight and third during their spring break trip.
  • Wojtkowski Earns 200th Win as No. 9 Men’s Tennis Sweeps Two Matches to Begin Spring Break Trip

    The ninth-ranked Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team swept two matches on Sunday afternoon at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida to begin its spring break trip. The Spartans defeated Occidental College 7-2 and Hampden-Sydney College 9-0. The two wins give Head Coach Todd Wojtkowski 200 as the men’s tennis coach at CWRU, as he has now compiled a 200-101 record in his 12 seasons with the program.

    The ninth-ranked Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team will travel to Orlando, Florida from March 8-11 for seven matches during the team’s annual spring break trip. Two of the matches will be against nationally ranked teams, with another coming against a Division I squad.

    The ninth-ranked Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team will be back in Cleveland this weekend, as the Spartans play host to Wittenberg University, no. 34 Hobart College, and the University of Rochester. The Spartans will host Wittenberg at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion on Saturday, February 29 at noon, and then play Hobart at noon on Sunday, March 1 at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion and Rochester at 2:00 p.m. at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club.
