Men’s Tennis Finishes Year Ranked 12th in Division III

The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team wrapped up its 2018-19 season ranked 12th in the final Oracle/ Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Rankings of the year.

The Spartans finished the year with a 21-9 overall record, including a 9-8 record against nationally-ranked Division III opponents.  CWRU went 2-1 at the University Athletic Association Championships, placing fifth overall in the conference.

In addition to their national ranking, the Spartans finished the year ranked fifth in the Central Region.  CWRU sophomore Matthew Chen was ranked 30th nationally in singles play and ninth in the region, while freshman Aaron Umen was ranked 25th in the final regional poll.  Also in the Central Region rankings, the Spartans' duo of junior Anthony Kanam and sophomore Jonathan Powell were ranked 10th, while Chen and junior Zach Hennessey were ranked 14th.
