#18 CWRU to Face First Ranked Opponent of 2019 in #40 Coe

The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team, ranked 18th in Division III, will have its first test against a nationally-ranked opponent this week, when the Spartans face off against 40th-ranked Coe College in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Friday, February 15th at 5:00 p.m.

The Spartans, who are also ranked seventh in the Central Region, will be looking to extend their undefeated start to the season, after going 3-0 last Saturday in matches against Wabash College, Earlham College and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.  The Spartans swept all three matches by 9-0 scores, winning all nine doubles contests and each of the 18 singles matchups. 

Including the fall, the Spartans now have a .722 winning percentage as a team in singles matches (78-30) and a .805 mark in doubles play (62-15).

Coe has opened its season with a 4-0 record, and will host the University of Missouri – Kansas City on February 14th before taking on the Spartans the following day.  The Kohawks are ranked 40th in Division III and 10th in the Central Region, and most recently picked up a pair of wins over Quincy University (4-3) and Cornell College (9-0) last Saturday.
