Fifth-Ranked CWRU Men’s Tennis to Face Pair of D-I Opponents

After a week off from competition, the fifth-ranked Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team will be back in action against a pair of NCAA Division I opponents, playing Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis at 10:00 a.m. and Butler University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26th in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Spartans will enter the weekend with an 11-3 overall record, following the team's 1-1 performance at the Stag-Hen Invitational two weeks ago, which included a 6-3 loss to top-ranked Emory University and a 6-3 win over 19th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College.

The Spartans have a .660 winning percentage in singles matches as a team this year (101-52), including a .711 winning percentage in the spring (54-22).  Senior CJ Krimbill has a team-leading 15-4 singles record this season, including an 11-2 mark in dual matches as the team's first singles player.  Senior Louis Stuerke (12-5), freshman Robert Stroup (11-9) and junior James Fojtasek (10-4) each have registered double-figure singles wins for the Spartans as well this year.

Case Western Reserve has also gone 31-11 during doubles contests in the spring for a .738 winning percentage as a team, and stand at 53-23 (.697) overall for the 2015-16 campaign.  Krimbill and Stuerke have gone 15-4 this year, while Fojtasek and junior Phil Gruber have registered a 12-1 record.

IUPUI, a member of the Division I Summit League, stands at 5-15 on the season.  The Jaguars have won their last two matches, with victories against Dickinson College (7-0) and Asbury College (6-1).

Butler, out of the Big East Conference, is 5-8 on the season.  The Bulldogs claimed a 7-0 win over Division III Rose Hulman in their last match.
