Krimbill and Stuerke Conclude ITA Regional in the Finals

The No. 1 doubles team of seniors CJ Krimbill and Louis Stuerke fell in the finals match of doubles play on Sunday afternoon at the 2015 ITA Regional Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships hosted by Washington University in St. Louis. 

Krimbill and Stuerke, the No. 1 doubles draw, advanced to the finals of the regional for the second straight year. The Spartans defeated the team of Nick Fiaschetti and Nick Paolucci from Keyon 8-2 to advance to the 2015 finals. In the final round against rival UAA doubles team from Chicago Nicolas Chua and David Liu, the Spartans duo fought a tough battle, but fell 6-2, 6-4.

In singles, Krimbill's run ended in the quarterfinals where he fell to Kalamazoo's Brandon Metzler.

The CWRU roster had its an outstanding showing at regionals with twelve different players who went 34-12 overall in singles matches and 18-6 in doubles.

The Spartans tennis team will now take a break from competition until Saturday February 13, 2016 when they will host Oberlin College.
