Senior CJ Krimbill is set to move on to the semi-finals of the singles competition, while Krimbill and senior doubles partner Louis Stuerke will advance to the quarterfinals at the ITA Regional Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.
As the No. 1 singles draw, Krimbill defeated two opponents Saturday in order to advance. In his first match of the day in the round of 32, Krimbill defeated Lincoln Metz from Wheaton in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. He then continued on to defeat the No.24 draw pick Charlie Pei from Chicago 5-7, 6-4, 7-6.
Krimbill and Stuerke, the No. 1 doubles draw, defeated the team of No. 10 draw team of Jason Haugen and Johnny Wu from Washington (Mo.) 8-5. They then took on and took a 8-5 victory over the No. 5 draw pick of Kevin Brown and Jackson O'Gorman-Bean from Denison to advance to Sunday's quarterfinals competition.
