CJ Krimbill Wins Twice, Advances to NCAA Singles Quarterfinals

MASON, OH - Junior CJ Krimbill (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain) posted a pair of victories today at the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championship to reach the national quarterfinals for the second consecutive season.

Krimbill, seeded second in the championship, opened the day with a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) victory over senior Eric Halpern of UAA rival Emory University. He fell behind 3-1 in the second set tie-breaker, but scored six of the final eight points to finish the match.

In the afternoon match, Krimbill topped another senior, Patrick Lipscomb of the University of the Redlands, 6-3, 6-4.

Tomorrow at 10 a.m., Krimbill will face senior Moises Cardenas of California Lutheran University, who defeated the tournament's seventh seed in the opening round and came back from a one-set deficit in the Round of 32.
