OBERLIN, Ohio – The No. 8 nationally ranked Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over Oberlin College on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans (11-4) did not drop a set for the entire match against the Yeomen (10-9) and had three individuals go 2-0 for the day.
Sophomore Christopher Krimbill (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain) as well as seniors John Healey (Columbia, Md./Atholton) and Derek Reinbold (Carmel, Ind./Park Tudor) all won in both singles and doubles competition.
Krimbill earned victories at first singles (6-0, 6-0) and first doubles (8-5) with sophomore partner Louis Stuerke (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest).
Healey and freshman partner James Fojtasek (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods) won 8-3 at second doubles before the former won 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles. Reinbold and fellow senior Ben McClarren (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) won the last doubles match, 8-5, while Reinbold won 6-4, 6-2 at third singles.
CWRU next competes on Saturday, April 5 when it hosts University Athletic Association rival and No. 11 ranked Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) at 4:45 p.m. at the Cleveland Skating Club.
