Career: Finished fourth in program history in doubles wins (63)…2013 NCAA Championship qualifier.


2012-13: Served as a team captain...went a combined 20-12 as one of team’s top doubles players…named second-team All-UAA at first doubles with John Healey…also selected to NCAA Doubles Championship along with Healey…finished season as part of ITA’s No. 15 nationally ranked doubles tandem…also ranked third in the ITA Central Region…posted a 14-11 doubles record in dual match play with four different partners…won two singles matches.

2011-12: Posted a 4-4 singles record and went a combined 14-5 in doubles action with four different partners…teamed with Kyle Gerber for a 9-4 overall mark, including a 3-0 performance at No. 2…also teamed with Gerber for a 9-7 victory versus a Division I tandem from Butler in the Flight A Doubles Draw at the Purdue Invitational on September 16…teamed with Gerber for two wins and a berth to the quarterfinal round of the USTA/ITA Central Region Championship on September 23-25.

2010-11: Posted a 6-4 record in singles play, mostly at the No. 6 position…compiled an overall doubles mark of 14-15…posted a 7-8 record along with John Healey as the team’s No. 1 doubles tandem…duo also finished the regular season ranked No. 7 in the ITA Central Region.

2009-10: Finished 10-9 in singles play as a freshman…competed at No. 4 (2-5), No. 5 (4-1) and No. 6 (2-1)…compiled a doubles record of 15-12 with three different partners…teamed with Paul Smetona for a 7-3 mark at No. 1 doubles and with Kyle Gerber for a 7-5 mark at No. 3.

Personal: Earned three varsity tennis letters and one in basketball at nearby Shaker Heights High School…three-time All-Lake Erie League selection…district and sectionals double champion…second-team All-Ohio pick…honor roll student…son of Philip Howe and Anita Merriam.
