The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will wrap up the fall portion of their 2018-19 schedule this weekend, when the team travels to Wooster, Ohio for the Wooster Invitational from Thursday, November 29th through Saturday, December 1st.
Action at the Ellen Shapiro Natatorium will begin on Thursday with preliminaries at 11:00 a.m., with finals to follow later in the day at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, preliminaries are slated for a 10:00 a.m. start, with finals at 6:00 p.m. The meet will conclude on Saturday with 10:00 a.m. preliminaries and 5:00 p.m. finals.

This meet will be the first invitational-style competition for the Spartans this season.
Along with Case Western Reserve and host Wooster, 12 teams are slated to participate at the meet, including Chatham, Edinboro, Gannon, Hiram, Lock Haven, Mount Union, Malone, Ohio Northern, Pitt.-Bradford and Westminster.
Last season, the CWRU women totaled 1,984.5 points to finish first at the meet, marking the third-straight season that the team has won the competition. Senior Suhan Mestha paced the squad in the 50-yard freestyle, placing second with a 'B' cut time of 23.63. She also earned a 'B' cut time in the 100-yard backstroke (56.24) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.55) during the last two days of the meet. In addition, sophomore Caitlyn VonFeldt notched a 'B' cut time of 57.18 leading off the relay in the 100-yard backstroke and also earned a 'B' cut time on the second day of the meet with a time of 56.42 in the 100-yard backstroke.
The CWRU men also finished in first-place during the 2017 Wooster Invitational, totaling 1,899 points. It marked the squad's eighth-straight first-place finish at the meet. Senior Keith Erichsen finished first in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:18.09, while 16 other Spartan men earned top-three finishes in their respective events.
