The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will wrap-up the fall portion of their 2016-17 schedule this weekend, when the team travels to Wooster, Ohio for the Wooster Invitational from Thursday December 1st through Saturday, December 3rd.
Action at the Ellen Shapiro Natatorium will begin on Thursday with preliminaries at 11:00 a.m., with finals to follow later in the day at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, preliminaries are slated for a 10:00 a.m. start, with finals at 6:00 p.m. The meet will conclude on Saturday with 10:00 a.m. preliminaries and 5:00 p.m. finals.

This meet will be the first invitational-style competition for the Spartans this season.
Along with Case Western Reserve and host Wooster, 10 teams are slated to participate at the meet, including Alderson Broaddus, Chatham (women only), Edinboro, Gannon, Malone, Mount Union, Ohio Northern and Westminster.
Last season, the CWRU men totaled 1,775.5 points to finish first at the meet, marking the sixth-straight season that the team has won the competition. Junior Drew Hamilton paced the squad in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a 'B' cut time of 16:04.19 and an NCAA 'B' cut in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:03.78 to finish second in the event. Senior David Merriman finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a 'B' cut time of 16:15.85.
The CWRU women also finished in first-place during the 2015 Wooster Invitational, totaling 1,563 points. It marked the squad's first-ever first-place finish at the meet. Sophomore Kelsey Holmberg finished fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:11.28) and junior Brooke Hortness placed fourth in the three-meter dive (362.65).
