The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams competed in a quad meet in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon, with the men and women both picking up wins over Clarion University and Gannon University, but falling to host Carnegie Mellon University.
The Spartan men and women each stand at 3-1 in dual meets this season, following Saturday's meet.
Freshman Suhan Mestha headlined the women's performers, sweeping the backstroke events with winning times of 1:00.02 in the 100 back and 2:07.63 in the 200 back, while adding a victory in the 200-yard individual medley with a mark of 2:12.26.
For the men, senior Aaron Tam won a pair of events, finishing first in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.22) and the 100-yard butterfly (50.97 seconds). In addition, senior Connor Farrell won the three-meter dive with a score of 246.60.
The Spartans will have a pair of meets on the horizon next week, competing at the College of Wooster at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6th at 6:30 p.m., before returning home to host Oberlin College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7th at 1:00 p.m., the team's home-opening dual meet.
