The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team will end their five-home stand as they welcome Westminster (Pa.) College to DiSanto Field on Monday, October 22nd for a 7:00 p.m. match. Monday's match will also serve as the Spartans final home game of the 2018 regular season.

CWRU Spartans (11-2-1)
Senior Alex Besl connected on a goal in the first half on Friday evening to the Spartans a 1-0 win over then 23rd-ranked Washington (Mo.) University. The game was scoreless until the 27th minute of play, when Besl recovered a ball after junior Zachary Senft laced a shot that hit the post and then Besl struck the ball into the back of the net for the score. The goal was Besl's sixth of the season, and Senft was credited with the assist.
The Spartans picked up a statement win at home on Sunday afternoon, defeating the University of Chicago, the then top-ranked team in Division III, 2-1 in UAA action at DiSanto Field. After a scoreless first half, Senft put the Spartans on the board with his fifth goal of the year in the 55th minute of the game. Chicago evened the game at 1-1 in the 63rd minute, but CWRU came back aggressive on the attack. Besl was taken down on a breakaway inside the 18-yard box, resulting in a penalty kick with just 8:37 remaining in the game. Junior Garrett Winter took the penalty, sending it past the keeper for the eventual game-winning goal.
Westminster Titans (10-3)
The Titans are led on offense by sophomore Nick Iregui who has totaled a team-high 31 points on 13 goals and five assists. Junior Peter Mattocks also contributes on offense with 22 points on nine goals and four assists. In net, senior AJ Bove has been the primary keeper for the Titans as he has totaled over 929 minutes in goal. He has made 42 saves and only allowed nine goals for a 0.824 save percentage.
Westminster will host conference rival Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday, before traveling to Cleveland to face the Spartans on Monday.
Junior Garrett Winter leads the Spartans with seven goals, while senior Alex Besl and sophomore Seldon Magruder have totaled six goals apiece…Winter currently ranks fourth among all University Athletic Association players with seven goals, while junior Zachary Senft ranks third with six assists…Freshman goalkeeper Charlie Fink ranks third with 42 saves and fifth with a .808 save percentage in the UAA…The Spartans have totaled 230 shots and 110 shots on goal this season…CWRU has held opponents to averages of just 4.07 shots on goal per game, and 10.6 shots per contest.
