The 19th-ranked Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team will continue their home stand with a weekend of University Athletic Association games against 23rd-ranked Washington (Mo.) University on Friday, October 12th at 5:00 p.m. and the top-ranked University of Chicago on Sunday, October 14th at 11:00 a.m.

Prior to the start of Sunday's match, the Spartans will recognize the five graduating players from the 2018 squad – forward Alex Besl, midfielder Brady Daulton, defender Reed Kurtenbach, defender Christian Lytle and midfielder Josh Wargo.
The five graduating members of the Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team have helped the team compile 34 wins over the past four seasons, including a 2-1-1 record against top-five ranked teams over the past three years. With their contributions, the team has appeared in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll as high as No. 16 during the 2015 season, while consistently ranking among the top teams in the Great Lakes Region. In addition, the team has excelled academically, earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, while also recording the highest GPA in the country during the 2015-16 season.
#19 CWRU Spartans (9-2-1, 0-1-1 UAA)
The Spartans earned a 3-1 win over Hiram College on Wednesday night. Sophomore Maximillian Klemm started the scoring early, striking at the 11:35 mark via an assist from sophomore Connor Weber. Sophomore Seldon Magruder then notched back-to-back goals in a little over minutes apart at the 15:01 mark and the 18:05 mark of the first half. Hiram got on the board in the 80th minute, but that is all the Spartans would allow as they would hang on for the 3-1 victory.
#23 Washington Bears (5-4-1, 1-0-1 UAA)
The Bears suffered a 3-2 loss to Oglethorpe University on Monday. WashU trailed 3-1 at halftime, giving up three unanswered goals after senior Ryan Sproule gave the Bears the early lead with a goal in the seventh minute. WashU cut the deficit to 3-2 in the 64th minute, but were unable to score the equalizer before the end of regulation.
Washington played the sixth-ranked University of Rochester to a 2-2 double overtime tie on Sunday. Sophomore Will Sproule scored the first goal of the contest in the 40th minute, and then Ryan Sproule made it 2-0 in the 57th minute. Rochester scored a pair of goals in a 4:30 minute span to tie the contest at 2-2. Neither team was able to score the game-winner during the two overtime periods.
#1 Chicago Maroons (11-0-1, 2-0-0 UAA)
The Maroons defeated 12th-ranked Emory University 2-0 on Saturday to pick up its fourth win against a ranked team this season. A deflected cross from senior Matthew Koh at the 11-minute mark put Chicago out in front before a period of sustained attack culminated with senior Max Lopez doubling the margin in the 28th minute.
Junior Garrett Winter leads the Spartans with 15 points on six goals and three assists, while junior Zachary Senft ranks second on the team with 13 points on four goals and five assists…Freshman goalkeeper Charlie Fink currently ranks tied for third among UAA players with 36 saves, and fifth with a .800 save percentage…The Spartans have totaled 213 shots and 103 shots on goal this season…CWRU has held opponents to averages of just 4.2 shots on goal per game, and 9.8 shots per contest.
