#21 CWRU Spartans (8-1-1, 0-0-1 UAA)

The Spartans defeated seventh-ranked Kenyon College in a 3-0 shutout win on Wednesday evening after scoring two first half goals from seniors Christian Lytle and Alex Besl, and then securing the victory with a goal from sophomore Nathan Ekberg in the second half. CWRU has now defeated three top-10 ranked teams in the past three season, with the last two victories coming against then second-ranked Kenyon on September 27, 2016 and against then fourth-ranked Lycoming College on September 23, 2017. All three of the victories have come at home on DiSanto Field.

On Saturday, the Spartans played Brandeis University to a scoreless tie on the road in Waltham, Massachusetts. The shutout was the fifth of the season for the Spartans, including the fourth individual clean sheet for freshman Charlie Fink, who stands at 8-1-1 on the season following Saturday's result.  Making his conference debut, Fink recorded five saves (one short of his season high), raising his save percentage to .824, while lowering his goals against average to 0.61.

Hiram Terriers (0-8-1, 0-2-0 NCAC)

The Terriers fell 3-1 to non-conference foe Marietta College on Tuesday night. Hiram's lone goal came from freshman Tommy Rink off an assist from sophomore Giovanni Meza. The Pioneers outshot the Terriers 16-6 in the match and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Hiram suffered a 2-0 shutout loss to DePauw College on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers were able to hold the Tigers' scoreless in the first half, but two second half goals were enough to secure the victory for DePauw.

New York Violets (7-2-0, 0-1-0 UAA)

The Violets fell to Carnegie Mellon University 1-0 in its University Athletic Association opener on Saturday. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, but Carnegie Mellon managed to break the scoreless deadlock when Cooper Tubiana received a pass from Jack McCambridge and knocked it in from the top of the box past NYU goalkeeper Grant Engel. That tally came at 58:17 and was the only score of the day.

New York will be idle during the week as they await to travel to Cleveland on Saturday to face the Spartans on DiSanto Field.
