Boyle Named Defensive Athlete of the Week

Case Western Reserve senior goalkeeper Calvin Boyle was named the University Athletic Association Defensive Athlete of the Week, after helping the Spartans to a 1-0-1 record this past weekend.

Boyle finished the week with 200:00 shutout minutes in net for the Spartans. On Friday night against the University of Mount Union, Boyle made six saves to help CWRU secure the 1-0 shutout victory. During Sunday's 0-0 double overtime tie against DePauw University, Boyle turned away three shots.

For the season, Boyle is 1-0-1 overall with a 0.00 goals against average. He ranks tied for first with a 1.000 save percentage, tied for first with 0 goals against and third with nine saves in the University Athletic Association. This was his third Conference Athlete of the Week award of his career.

Case Western Reserve will be back in action this weekend, as they play host to No. 2 Calvin College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 8th.
