Senior Matthew Zembas of the Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Wilmington College (Ohio) at Charlie Gilhart Field in Williams Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Spartans advance to 8-1 for the 2015 season while Wilmington drops to 3-7 overall.
The goal came quick and early for CWRU, in just the 21st minute of play. Zembas received a pass from sophomore forward Michael Balog and sent one sailing into the back of the net which would hold for the remainder of the game.
The Spartans were on the attack throughout the entirety of the game, with 11 shots in both halves, 11 total on goal and the overall advantage 22-7.
Sophomore goalkeeper Christian Grimme defended one shot at the goal from Wilmington keeping a 4-0 record during his time in the net.
The Spartans will remain on the road in week five of the 2015 season with a game on Wednesday, September 30 at 4:30 p.m. at Kenyon College.
